Garden=Folly
Garden=Folly is a field where garden and structure unite. This proposal reconceives folly, a visually decorative, physically massive, and morally didactic feature in classical English gardens. Made of white steel pipes and fittings, the folly structure appears abstract, light, and transparent. The use of modular materials permits the structure to evolve. The space grid can be easily dismembered and reconfigured annually to allow more space for the birch trees to grow, thus creating an ever-changing garden for years to come.
